Rotary Clubs in Canberra are organising a community-based fund-raising event on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of March here in Canberra. The Aussie Peace Walk is a community-building exercise that brings people from different countries together to increase cross-cultural understanding while walking.
The Rotary Club in Hall has been a loyal and generous sponsor for the REACH for Nepal Foundation, and our charity is one of the five charities that participants on the Aussie Peace Walk can nominate to raise funds for. Apart from our own loyal supporters, we would like to see a large number of participants representing Nepal.
In essence, participants have a choice to walk on Saturday 25th March, Sunday the 26th March or both. There are 8 walks ranging from 7km to 42km to choose from. Have a look at the choice of walks on Saturday. These are the Sunday walks.
All you need to do to participate is to register and start fundraising. If you don’t want to set up your own fund-raising page, you can register via this same link and donate through the Lou Nulley REACH for Nepal Community of Interest page.
There is an entry fee to participate in the Aussie Peace Walk and details of the fees can be found here.
If you would like to fundraise for the REACH for Nepal Foundation but prefer not to participate in the Aussie Peace Walk, you can create your own fund-raising page, without registering for the event, and click ‘Start Fundraising’. And as mentioned above, you can also donate directly through the Lou Nulley REACH for Nepal Community of Interest page.
Once you have created your own Fund-Raising page, you can share it with families, friends and work colleagues. Some of them might also like to join you on your walk or even share your link with their network.
It would be wonderful if you can join us in the walk on the weekend. We also have a strong Nepalese community here in Canberra, and this would be a tremendous opportunity for you to participate in raising awareness of your amazing country, and directly contribute to help those back home. So come along in your national costumes, share your culture and raise awareness for the need to help those less fortunate.
All funds raised go directly to help those in need in Nepal as the foundation is run by volunteers. All donations over $2 to the REACH for Nepal Foundation are tax deductible and a receipt will be sent to your email address.
